PRESERVING THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

NATIVE FOREST

The “Bosque Nativo COLUN” initiative, part of COLUN’s reforestation plan, restores 11 hectares at our Planta Verde Los Tambores in the locality of La Unión, and aims to help conserve the biodiversity of southern Chile.

To date, we have reforested the site with about 7,800 native trees — including Roble, Boldo, Olivillo, Ulmo, Lingue, Raulí, and Laurel — helping protect and preserve southern Chile’s natural environment.

COLUN-CONAF AGREEMENT

Since 2020, we have maintained a collaboration agreement with CONAF to grow native trees from the southern part of Chile.

Through this agreement, we dedicate land in Río Bueno to operate the Piruco Forest Nursery, where we cultivate different native species. Some of these trees go to CONAF; the rest are used in our Cooperative’s reforestation and restoration projects.

To date, we have propagated more than 50,000 trees, contributing to ecosystem conservation and ecological balance in the regions where we operate.
